The Attorney General’s Office: Photojournalist Levin was killed by two shots from small arms

A criminal case has been opened over the murder of photojournalist Maksym Levin in the Kyiv region.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, unarmed Levin was killed by Russian Armed Forces with two shots from small arms.

The case is being investigated on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation continues, measures are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the crime, the report says.

According to the investigation, in March 2022, the connection with Levin, who covered the events related to the military aggression of the Russian Federation in the Kiev region, disappeared.

The journalist’s body was found in the village of Huta Mezhyhirska, Vyshhorod district.

Maksym Levin is a well-known Ukrainian photojournalist, documentary photographer and cameraman. Collaborated with Reuters, BBC, TRT World, Associated Press, Hromadske, LB.ua.
